Eschen is proud to be the leading provider of prosthetics in the Northeastern United States. As a thought leader and innovator in the field, we are able to offer an unparalleled patient experience and superior outcomes compared to other leading providers. Treating limb loss involves the coordinated care of a team of medical experts, and Eschen is proud to partner with limb loss specialists in the fields of orthopedics, physical medicine and rehabilitation, physical therapy, and biomechanical engineering. At Eschen, our clinicians have dedicated their lives to treating limb loss. With over 500 years of combined experience there’s nothing we haven’t seen and nothing we can’t do. Unlike other providers who are comprised of prosthetic generalists, Eschen has assembled a team of highly trained specialists in the fields of:

1. Osseointegration

Osseointegration prosthetics are available for upper- and lower-limb amputees, including above- and below-elbow amputees and above and below-knee amputees. Eschen is proud to be the leading provider of osseointegration prosthetics in the United States. Osseointegration prosthetics represent a huge advancement in prosthetic care.

2. Upper Limb

An upper-limb prosthesis is a custom-made device designed to replace part or all of a missing upper-limb. This can range from a device that replaces part of your hand, to a device that replaces your entire upper-limb including your shoulder, elbow and hand. The design of your upper-limb prosthesis will depend upon your anatomy, amputation level, current activity level and future functional goals.

3. Lower Limb

A lower-limb prosthesis is a custom-made device designed to replace part or all of a missing lower-limb. This can range from a device that replaces part of your foot, to a device that replaces your entire lower-limb including your hip, knee, and foot. The design of your lower-limb prosthesis will depend upon your anatomy, amputation level, current activity level and future functional goals. All lower-limb prostheses include up to three main elements: the socket, knee, and foot. Each of these components are critical in the facilitation of your recovery and the achievement of your goals.

4. Pediatrics

At Eschen, we recognize there are differences between treating children and adults with limb-loss. That is why Eschen has assembled a leading team of prosthetic specialists focused on pediatric care. Our pediatric prosthetists have dedicated their lives to treating children living with limb-loss. As your child grows and becomes more active, their prosthesis will require upgrades and replacements to keep up with them. During high-growth periods, you and your child will likely be spending a lot of time with your prosthetist. Our mission is to build strong and lasting relationships with our pediatric patients and their parents and work as a team to reach and achieve our goals.

5. Sports

Living with limb-loss should not hold you back from participating in sports. Fortunately, there are upper- and lower-limb prosthetics available for just about every sport and activity imaginable. In some cases, sports prosthetics are single purpose, like the “Volleyball Hand.” In others, they are extremely versatile, like running feet, which are able to accommodate just about any cardio or non-cardio activity. Whether you are a weekend warrior, a professional athlete, or slowly beginning to integrate athletics back into your life, we’ve got you covered. When it comes to water sports, Eschen is extremely proud to be a leading provider of water legs and a co-founder of the Fin, the first-of-its-kind swimming prosthesis.
